I started private guitar lessons at the age of 9. I took to it extremely quickly, and knew very early on it was what I was going to do for the rest of my life. I studied Guitar, Voice, and Alto Saxophone through my teen years until I graduated High School.
In 5th Grade I started Guitar lessons with Randy Gouge of Lenoir City, TN. Randy spent a good portion of his life working in Nashville, TN as a working musician and session guitarist. Randy has an approach that teaches students to be a well rounded musician, and I try to do his method justice with my own students. I owe a good percentage of my musicianship to Randy's guidance and I still look to him for advice 20 years later.
When I went off to college, I said goodbye to my Saxophone though I continued to sing in my college choirs. I started college at Pellissippi State Community College in 2011 until I moved to Wisconsin. In 2013, I attended the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse where I studied Music Composition and Classical Guitar under Dirck Nagy.
I continue my education by constantly surrounding myself with tremendous musicians who know more than I do, and always remaining humble and hungry to learn more about my profession.
I currently reside in La Crosse, WI where I teach guitar lessons and play full-time. I maintain a studio of about 25-30 students throughout the year. I also offer my services as a hired gun for any band that needs a fill-in guitarist on short notice.
